“Last Son of Tomorrow” is a 2009 science fiction short story by Greg van Eekhout. It is about a super-hero who gets tired of doing the same old thing all the time.
Super Heroes Are Awesome!
I have been a fan of super-heroes comics my entire life. I think that goes a long way in explaining why I liked this story so much. If you are a fan of super-heroes too then you owe it to yourself to read this fantastic little story.
Non-spoiler Summary in a Nutshell
John was born with extraordinary powers and abilities, and grew up on a farm doing all sorts of amazing things. Sound familiar? Yep, that’s because it is! The first part of this story is very similar to Superman’s story, but then we get to find out what happens to the super-hero that can never die – and it isn’t all rosie either!
