The nominees for the 2008 Hugo Awards for Best Short Story, Best Novelette and Best Novella have finally been announced. You can check out the official page at denvention.org (the site of the scifi convention that will announce the winners, held in Denver, Colorado August 6 – 10, 2008), or read an article on SF Signal that has a lot of links to the actual nominated works.
There are loads of good stuff on the list, but I am mostly interested in the short fiction categories. I got lucky and have already reviewed one short story, but I plan on reviewing as many as I can in the next few weeks, so check back often if you are interested in my opinions about them (And who isn’t!) Usually the magazines that published these stories will post a free version for people to read, so if I come across those links I’ll share them too.
Anyway, here is the list of 2008 Hugo Award nominees for Best Short Story, Best Novelette and Best Novella – along with the title and where they were originally published:
