The Internet Speculative Fiction Database is great for finding information about authors, stories and collections. I did a couple of searches and was quite impressed. A great information store, but unfortunately no links to the stories. Oh well – they can’t all be as good as our sites can they?

And thanks for the newsgroup info – that is one that I haven’t looked at before, but I’ll be sure to check it out.

For bibliographic information about a story, author, collection etc – try ISFDB – “http://isfdb.org/”. It’s been down for may be a week now – so link might not work right away. But they promise they’re working on it. One of the easiest places for this kind of data. They’ve a blog too – “http://isfdb.blogspot.com/”.

Not exactly a source of information on free online stories, but a wealth of information on scifi in general, will be found at rasfw newsgroup. Note this is not a website – link is just to a web cache; you will need a newsreader software application & a news server (“nntp:” url) to access it conveniently. And like all of usenet, there is a lot of junk here – need time & familiarity to sift through & find gold here. Among the best sources for recommendations on which are the good stories worth looking out for.
